JOB DETAILS
- 16-week initial contract with 13-week renewals
- Days & nights available with every other weekend required
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients
- Perform comprehensive assessments to evaluate patient needs
- Administer medications and monitor effectiveness
- Assist patients in developing healthy coping skills
- Observe, document, and report changes in behavior and condition
- Ensure proper management and documentation of all medications
- Maintain thorough and up-to-date patient records
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care
- This Registered Nurse position is responsible to perform inpatient treatment, psychiatric stabilization, and medical detoxification for individuals with substance use and other co-occurring psychiatric diagnosis, for ongoing community-based treatment and recovery
- The Registered Nurse develops nursing care plans based on diagnosis, identified patient problems, and independently carries out the nursing process
- This position provides direct patient care such as monitoring physical status, vital signs, nurse triage assessments and monitoring patients for physical and psychological changes
- They will administer medication and collaborate with the Treatment Team to access patient needs and responses to treatment
- This Position is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events
REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active, unencumbered nursing license in North Carolina
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- At least 1 year of recent experience in a hospital setting
- Direct patient care experience within the past 12 months
- Successful completion of required screenings, including background check, drug test, and competency evaluation
- Ability to independently plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
- Knowledge of medications and the physiological effect of those medications
- Ability to communicate information in a concise and descriptive manner, verbally, written, or by demonstration
- Ability to appropriately respond to emergency situations
